ESE Laboratory Printer Setup
Affected Printers are:
Emory (HP LaserJet 1022n) in 122 SEB
MasterShake (HP LaserJet 1022n) in 124 SEB
Oglethorpe (HP LaserJet 1022n) in 125 SEB
Starting Setup
- Printers have been set with Static Dynamic Addresses
MasterShake is 10.76.101.43
- Emory is 10.76.101.44
- Oglethorpe is 10.76.101.45
- Printers have queues, linked, etc. through CUPS
Unfortunately...
- Connections to printserver are bad (old UTS network equipment)
- CUPS can print a test page most of the time, but print jobs sent to CUPS don't make it to the printer
Computers refuse the LaserJet 1022n's driver on printserver
New Setup
- Computers printing to these printers print through local TCP/IP ports, bypassing printserver and queuing their own jobs.
- 105 SEB computers use HP TCP/IP ports (setup by HP software on CD); 122, 124, 125 SEB computers use normal TCP/IP ports.
- Printer driver is obtained from HP CD or Windows Update
